Local Rules – Brief Explanation

Always check notice boards or with the Golf Pro’s to confirm which local rules are in effect

 

Preferred Lie –  With exception of when your ball is resting in a hazard or in a bunker (See Bunker rules) you can pick clean and place your ball within 6 inches of its resting place when on fairways or close-mown area, no nearer the hole.

 

Preferred lies through the green – With exception of when your ball is resting in a hazard or in a bunker (See Bunker rules) you can pick clean and place your ball within 6 inches of its resting place, no nearer the hole.

 

Standing/Casual water – If your ball rests in standing\casual water you can pick clean and drop the ball from standing/Casual water without penalty. You may drop in any direction no nearer the hole.

 

Winter Bunkers  – Any bunker containing water be it partially of fully filled with water is deemed to be Ground Under repair. Pick clean and drop at the nearest point of relief without penalty. Any ball plugged in a bunker with no standing/casual water may be picked cleaned and dropped within the bunker no nearer the hole without penalty. If you wish to do so you may rake the area of the bunker were you intend to take the drop.

 

Bunkers – Any bunker containing water be it partially of fully filled with water is deemed to be Ground Under repair. Pick clean and drop at the nearest point of relief without penalty.
