Greenkeeper’s Area – Update

By Michael Lander | October 12, 2016 | Category Uncategorized

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you’ve all had a positive start to the week and are getting ready to wrap up warm for the recent cold temperatures!!!!

We have had a few things going on this week, which we would like to update you on:

  1. Verti-Draining Fairways: This week and running into next Kyle will be ‘Verti-Draining’ the fairways, which will help get us through the winter months as dry as possible!! (Follow this link to learn more – http://www.bourneamenitysport.com/verti-draining-spiking.html
  2. Irrigation Puncture: Unfortunately, whilst completing our verti-draining an old irrigation pipe has been struck to the left side of the 1st fairway – water has surfaced, however it is kindly draining off the fairway and into the rough. We hope this remains a small issue, however during the dry period we aim to do what we can to repair it!
  3. Greens Spraying: Today John has also been spraying the greens with fungicide to prevent development of disease (Follow this link to learn more – https://www.pitchcare.com/shop/fungicides-turf-disease/index.html )

Some of you may have already seen contractors levelling the spoil in bunker number one on the 9th hole, we have some other updates coming soon (Friday) – keep your eyes peeled, it’s exciting!

Be well,

Mike.
