Winter League Competition
The Winter League runs from February until March/April. This out of season competition is divided into two parts. The initial qualification stage and a 18 hole stableford final play-off. In the qualifying stage, players need only to submit four 9 hole cards from any of the qualifying events (stableford format) in an attempt to qualify.
There are a number of qualifying positions to be competed for. Normally the top 9 players, and ties, qualify for the final outright. There are two places, plus ties for the players with the highest total scores of all qualifying rounds, outside the top 9. A place is available for the player with the highest single round score outside the top 9 or the two places for the highest scores from all qualifying rounds (provided they have submitted at least 4 qualifying cards). In the event of a tie the players 2nd, 3rd or 4th qualifying score will be used to award the qualification to the final.
In addition to these places and dependant upon entrants, three places are available for lady members and three places for junior players. In addition to the main Winter League Competition there will also be additional competitions contested for best Lady and Best Junior to be played for at the final (Both ladies and juniors may compete in the main Winter League competition).
The final is usually played around the last weekend of March or early April (Check the events page for details). Additionally the winner of the Winter League will be invited to attend the next Pro-Am tournament. Entry for the Competition will normally open in January and close on the 4th to last qualifying event.
