The course is open

The course is a little heavy in one or two places with a little standing water just in front of the 7th tee which has been moved forward. All the greens are in play, however some tee areas have been roped off for the winter.

Course Closure

Morning Guys,

For those of you who know, each year the College holds an Open Day, where there attractions and stalls, it’s a fun packed family day out.

This year the charity golf day falls on 9th June, this Sunday, so as with normal years the course will be closed all day.

Apologies for any inconveniences this may cause but it only happens once a year…

Thanks in advance

John & Lee

Winter League – The Results

Good afternoon all,

Apologies for how late this email reaches you, we had a couple of issues that needed resolving before we could send out confirmation. However, thanks to the committee and people involved the issues were sorted out without too much trouble. I can now confirm that due to a ruling regarding tee times and completion of a round, 4th place has officially been awarded to Nick Bracken. However, as it was the golf club at fault for not sticking to original tee times Ian’s score of 39pts has been recognised, and for that fact we have still awarded Ian the prize money equivalent of 4th place.

On behalf of the Golf Club I would like to thank to all those that could make the final, and apologies to those that couldn’t. For those who played, I’m sure you will agree with me that a great day was had by all. The weather managed to hold and the scores reflected the good weather.

Quite different from the 9 hole qualifying rounds, 18 holes requires a certain amount of staying power and also a never say never attitude. All the finalists should be commended for their scores throughout the qualifying rounds and for indeed the final itself.

So the official results for the Winter League Final 2013 are as follows:

1st – Tony Hawkes – 44pts
2nd – Adam Connell – 40 pts (After Card Play-Off)
3rd – Barry Jackson – 40 pts (After Card Play-Off)
4th – Nick Bracken – 38 pts

Once again, fantastic scores from all the finalists, in particular Tony Hawkes, who will be going through to represent Myerscough Golf Club, along with Brian Procter and the eventual winner of the matchplay event with John in a Pro-Am later this year.

Which reminds me now, for those people still in the match play; Rob Dawson, Robb Thompson, Harry Moore & Sam Thornton, if you guys could get in touch with your opponents and look to sort out the matches this would be much appreciated. I know the course wasn’t up to scratch during the winter last year, but we are now into April and these matches still haven’t been played, so a little bit of urgency and we can get that boxed off.

Kindest regards

Lee & John
