Match Play competition rules
1. The Club Match Play competition is members only knock out competition played over 9 or 18 holes up until the quarter-final round. The quarter-final, semi-final and final rounds will then be played over 18 holes.
2. Shots received, the highest handicap will receive ¾ of the difference of there handicap.
3. The player drawn first will be responsible for arranging the date and number of holes the match is played over. If a match cannot be played in the allotted period the first player drawn for the fixture will automatically be progressed to the next round.
4. Arranging of fixtures, the first drawn player is to offer at least four dates to the opponent that the fixture should be played (proposed dates must not be consecutive). At least two of these dates should be on a Saturday or Sunday. It will be the responsibility of the second player drawn to accept one of these dates
5. The R & A rules of match play will apply.
6. Local rules apply only for the day they are authorised by the pro staff and published in the pro shop.
7. Registration for the Match Play competition closes on Saturday 5th April 2014. The dates are shown below and are based on 32 competitors. These dates are the last dates fixtures in each round are to be completed by. If entrants exceed 32 then an additional qualification round will be added. In the event of this all entrants will be notified by email of any date changes.
1st Round – 17th May 2014
2nd Round – 14th June 2014
3rd Round – 19th July 2014
Semi Final – 9th August 2014
Final – 30th August 2014
8. The following handicap limits will apply 36 shots (18 over 9 holes) for ladies and juniors. Gentlemen are limited to a maximum of 28 shots (14 over 9 holes). Players whose handicap is higher than the limits above will be allowed to take part in the competition however their handicap will be based on the limits above.
9. There will be a £5 entry fee, prizes being available to semi-finalists.
