Monthly Medal Competition
Myerscough Golf Club will run a Monthly Medal competition over both 18 and 9 holes, with exception of those which serve a qualifying event for external competitions. In these cases the monthly medal will be played solely over 18 holes. The monthly medal will be played using either Stroke Play or Stableford scoring systems. The 18 and 9 hole events will run independent of each other with exception of the 2′s competition. These competitions will run throughout the year (April – October). The competition dates and any amendments published can be found on the website, the events calendar or at the sports centre reception notice board.

Special Monthly Medal Events
If a monthly medal event is being used as a qualifying event for an external/third party event. Normal practice will be to remove the 9 hole event and make the monthly medal event a 18 hole competition. All details of the event including any special pricing and prizes will be published on the Myerscough Golf Club Website and in the sports centre reception. Additionally the specific event will be updated on the events diary on the Website.
Ways of registering
Prior to commencing play the member will be required to register in person at reception at the sports centre or by email to the pro staff or text message. At registration you will be required to confirm which event you are entering (18 or 9 hole with exception of special events). Once you have registered the entry fee will be required even if you do not play (See Entrance Fees).
Entrance Fees
The entry fee for the 18-hole medal is £3.50 and for the 9-hole medal £2.50. 50p will be put into a 2’s sweep and pooled for both formats. The prize pools for winners of each format will be completely separate and will be dependent on numbers; a breakdown of any competition prize will be available for each competition.
Minimum number of Competitors
For each 18 or 9 hole monthly medal event to take place there must be a minimum number of competitors. For each event to be classed as a valid event no fewer than 5 members must have registered and played in each of the 18 or 9 hole events. If for example only 4 people register and played the 18 hole event and 10 played in the 9 hole event. The 18 hole event would not be classed as a valid event. In these circumstances the first 9 holes scored by entrants in the 18 hole event, be that stableford or stroke play will automatically be transferred to the 9 hole event (if this is the case a partial entrance fees will refunded, as per the entrance fee information above).
